A new species of beaked whale was discovered near the island in 2016. PETROPAVLOVSK Near this beautifully rustic city, Avacha Bay is an unforgettable treat: see the iconic Three Brothers sea stacks where Steller sea lions bask. KISKA HARBOR Relics of Japanese occupation remain here, including a Shinto shrine as well as old naval artifacts scattered across the land.
